Startup Ambassador Internship at TNW X

You breathe startups. This means you can name dozens and have many friends working at startups. You read TechCrunch, StartupJuncture and TNW (obviously) on a daily basis. You can tell from a startup’s website what their business model is. We don’t have to explain the difference between VR and AR to you. You love diving into new markets and presenting your findings.

You are a team player who pays attention to detail, is tech savvy, determined, and gets stuff done. And most important: you’re fun to work with.

About TNW
TNW is a tech media company, founded in 2006. So far, we hosted TNW Conference for 12 years in Amsterdam and today it’s one of the most influential tech conferences globally. In this slipstream of the conference, we launched, our new site, that in 2017 keeps more than 10.000.000 people updated on tech's most fascinating stories each month. A year ago, we opened our own co-working space together with Google in the heart of Amsterdam; TQ. Last but not least, we built the startup database Index, the main data source for our projects.

I haven’t mentioned TNW X yet. X is the name of the label of TNW. With our variety of services we innovate corporates and governments. Startups play a vital role in TNW X. That's why we want you to join X, the fastest-growing team of TNW.

The role
You’ll be work side-by-side with our Startup Liaison in finding the best startups around the world. This means that research is a large part of your role. The startups that you find  we will connect to our corporate partners through a variety of projects and events. You’ll often be the first person to reach out to startups and inform them about TNW and our programs. You’ll help run this programs and organize events.You also provide content for our startup newsletter.

As part of your responsibilities, you will:

  • Support the team in improving our relationships with startups. Everything we do is triggered by our desire to increase the satisfaction of the startups entering our programs.
  • Be responsible to assist our team during the process of scouting, reviewing and on-boarding startups.
  • Help coordinate the process of connecting startups with relevant corporate brands in.
  • We’re a small and fast-growing team, we encourage own initiative


  • You show interest in startups and the startup ecosystem
  • Good understanding of (recent) developments in tech and startups, know the tech community well and have preferably worked in tech yourself.
  • You're deeply curious about new technology and innovation and their roles in our society, work and lives.
  • Eager to learn, adapt and perfect your work; you seek out help and put it to good use.
  • You’ve great research and communication skills.
  • You’re organised with an eye for detail and know how to streamline large amounts of information.
  • A good balance between team player/self-starter. You need to work cross-department to achieve a range of goals. At the same time, you need to be able to get things done even when there’s no one around to help.
  • Almost native English skills both in writing and speaking
  • Event management and writing skills are a plus.
