Program Manager

Every spring, 15,000 innovators and creators make their way to the Dutch city of Amsterdam for TNW Conference: a large-scale 2-day festival experience where we bring together the world's most inspiring creators and thinkers to challenge the way we approach technology and innovation.

We are looking for a talented Program Manager to help us take the next edition to an unprecedented level. You’ll be responsible for the actual content of our events: the talks, workshops and other programs. Alongside 2 other program managers you'll be in charge of creating an incredible conference experience for our attendees, jam-packed with valuable insights and inspiration.

FULL-TIME · AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS

Role
As a program manager at TNW Events, you will:

  • Be responsible for approximately 5 of the tracks at TNW Conference 2019, which determine the content direction for the different stages at the event. You will be working alongside 2 other program managers who are in charge of the other tracks.

  • Keep a pulse on the latest developments within the themes you’re responsible for by doing research into speakers, companies and trends. You’ll also be in touch with (potential) visitors of our events to learn what they would like to see at TNW.

  • Work closely with confirmed speakers to help them prepare for their talks, explaining the format, audience and context, and giving them feedback throughout the preparation process.

  • Collaborate with our Program Producer to make sure everything is taken care of for the speakers you get on board, including their travel and accommodation, press and media introductions and invitations to invite-only side events, like our renowned speaker dinner.

  • Select talented speakers from hundreds of submissions we receive for our events.

  • Coordinate any storytelling efforts (on the TNW blog, social media, conference website and newsletters) around the themes and speakers you work on with the marketing team at TNW.

  • Work on a wide range of other events around the globe that we'll be organizing in the future.

You

  • Excellent communicator who loves to work out how to get a message across in the clearest way possible. You know how to present your ideas and keep your messages short and concise.

  • Experience in marketing, communications and/or sales. Excited to pick up the phone or send out that email to invite your heroes on stage at TNW. Not afraid to negotiate and share your own ideas.

  • Knowledge of the tech industry and community, having worked with digital companies in the past. Eager to dive deep into new technologies such as blockchain and deep learning and learn how they affect businesses and our society.

  • Experienced storyteller able to support speakers in turning their insights and vision into a noteworthy TNW talk.

  • Highly organised and detail oriented. You enjoy reflecting on and improving your own processes. Good at keeping an overview, even when you’re managing large amounts of information.

  • Team player who can lead by example. You enjoy taking initiative and responsibility, continuously looking to grow and improve yourself.

  • Passionate about diversity and inclusivity and committed to making a positive change in the world.

Offer

  • Become an invaluable part of some of the world’s most influential tech events.
  • Get to know inspiring creators and thinkers from across the globe.
  • Learn all there is to know about the digital industry and the latest technologies and trends.
  • A relaxed, informal and flexible work atmosphere at a growing company (we recently passed 100 team members at TNW).
  • Work from an inspiring workplace at our own tech hub TQ, equipped with an outdoor terrace, (coffee) bar, indoor playground, canal view, events and workshops and a hidden disco, as well as a large network of growing startups and key players in the tech ecosystem.
  • Enjoy drinks with colleagues and other TQ residents every Friday 🍸
