TNW (The Next Web) is a fast-growing digital media company operating in news, workspaces, events and intelligence for the technology community. It is the parent company of TNW Events, which organises TNW Conference in Amsterdam (15.000 attendees) as well as smaller event formats all over Europe and North America.
We’re looking for a strong communicator that has the ability to converse with some of the world's most sought-after thought leaders and convince them to speak at TNW Conference. As Program Manager for TNW Events, you’ll be overseeing outreach and communication to more than a thousand speakers, all with the goal of finding the right people to complete our various content programs. You'll communicate directly with some of the world's leading CEO's in technology, like Booking.com, Basecamp, Airbnb, Reddit, Slack, TaskRabbit, Uber, Tesla, Accenture and many more.
You’ll work in a team of 3 program managers to find and select speakers for 18 different stage tracks, 10 workshops and over 200 roundtable sessions. You will set an overall content direction as a team, but a large emphasis of your work will be on managing communications and doing weekly outreach to secure a great speaker line-up. Our ideal candidate has some experience in business development to help them (1) convince speakers of the value of presenting at TNW and (2) understanding which topics and themes our attendees are interested in learning more about.
The role includes doing outreach and managing email communication on daily basis, so you’ll need to prove that you have impeccable written English skills.
Do outreach to potential new speakers and manage an automation system to follow up with potential leads throughout the year. You'll form a strategy to create multiple touch points with our network of speakers throughout the year.
Manage communications with confirmed speakers and pro-actively inform them on the progress of the event and documentation still needed.
Actively update our speaker database CRM based on your outreach and communications with speakers.
Schedule briefing calls with speakers where you share what’s expected, how to best prepare and what final details we expect from our speakers.
Contribute in setting the content direction of the conference. Help decide which themes make it to the stages and which to the roundtables.
Prepare documentation and write convincing copy for the successful execution of roundtable formats as the conference.
Educated to BA level or beyond.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in communications, community management or business development. Preferably a combination that includes business development experience and/or shows you're a business-savvy communicator.
You are an excellent copywriter and your grammar is at the level of an English native speaker. You’re able to eloquently explain the benefits of attending our conferences, without breaking a sweat.
Any experience with our current technology stack is a plus. We work with: MailChimp, Intercom, Google Apps, Trello, Slack, Typeform and Wordpress.
A good balance between a team player / self-starter. You need to work cross-department to achieve a range of goals. At the same time, you need to be able to get things done even when there's no one around to help.
You live in Holland or plan to move there (and have a work visa).
