We are looking for an enthusiastic person who will be leading the content proposition and what happens on stage at one of the leading tech festivals in Europe. As the Head of Content, you will take charge of strategic planning, development, and execution of all content-related aspects of our events. From our flagship festivals to strategic and custom events, you'll curate content that resonates with our brand and audience, ensuring a seamless and compelling experience for our attendees. Collaborating with external stakeholders such as speakers, partners, and clients, as well as internal teams in sales, marketing, and operations, you'll bring creativity and innovation to our content strategy.

TNW is a leading international tech media company founded in 2006. We write technology news (millions of monthly visitors to thenextweb.com, host events (such as the TNW conference with 12.5k visitors), collect and analyze tech startup data as well as operate tech spaces in Amsterdam.

The role 

The Head of Content at TNW is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development, and execution of all content-related aspects of TNW's events, which includes two flagship festivals alongside multiple strategic and custom events. This role requires a keen understanding of the emerging tech industry and an ability to curate engaging and impactful content that aligns with TNW's brand and audience. In this role you will collaborate with various stakeholders, including speakers, partners and clients externally, and sales marketing and operations internally, to ensure a creative, seamless and compelling content experience for attendees. Reporting to the Events Director and managing a team of two content producers, you’ll ensure the delivery of high-quality event content that drives attendee engagement and enhances the overall event experience.

The main events you will be leading the content development of are:

As our Head of Content, you will work closely with the other team-leads responsible for different business units within TNW including Media, Programs, and Spaces, in particular with TNW’s Head of Media and our media editorial team, to ensure alignment of content across our events and media platform.

Your knowledge & skills

  • An understanding of the emerging tech, startup and investment industries
  • Strong strategic planning skills to develop a content roadmap that identifies key themes that will resonate with TNWs attendees and sponsors
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence at all levels to attract world class speakers to TNW Conference
  • A commercial mindset and experience in aligning content to attract commercial partners and be able to package content effectively to perform across sales and marketing channels
  • Be creative to think innovatively to bring fresh ideas and concepts to the event's content strategy by exploring new formats, interactive sessions, and experiential elements to make content engaging, memorable, and differentiated
  • Ability to thrive in a startup and commercial environment
  • Conceptual and creative thinking and can translate content ideas and plans across our sales and marketing channels
  • 4+ years of experience demonstrated success in content development, ideally in technology conferences or exhibitions
  • Leadership and management skills with 1-2 years experience in developing content producers
  • An international mindset
  • Native or close to native level of English
