Front-end Development (Marketing)

We’re looking for somebody who can write beautiful frontend code with a keen eye on design, UX and marketing to work together with our development and marketing team to help build The Next Web of the future.

The marketing team you’ll be working with consists of ±7 people focusing on driving more growth, traffic, engagement and revenue through our projects, from TNW Conference to TNW Deals and Index.co.

We absolutely believe in data driven marketing that’s why we test everything we put out in the open and monitor every KPI you can imagine, but most of all to learn from and to understand what our users really want.

You like turning visual design into the fastest and most reliable code but are also very open for change as we’ll test the hell out of our site with A/B testing. Helping our marketing team in writing the necessary code for that part will be one of your responsibilities.

On a great day you write code, talk to our developers to speed things up on of our projects and put the code live for a couple of A/B tests with help from our CRO team. On the side you’ll be working on setting up the front-end + design for one of our new projects that will see the light in the second half of 2016.

We work hard but all of this in a smart, open and collaborating environment with awesome people, snacks, drinks and celebrations. Oh, and did we mention we work in the heart of Amsterdam (TQ Amsterdam), at the hottest office in town and host the best and biggest tech conference in Europe?

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our developers on keeping our projects as LEAN as possible by writing awesome code.
  • Work on implementing smaller/bigger SEO & Web Analytics changes.

  • Work alongside our analytics team to help them creating awesome A/B tests.
  • Work on optimizing our WordPress codebase where we run the blog on.

Who are you?

  • You are experienced in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
  • You are experience working with PHP (we’re fans of Laravel and WordPress).
  • You eat media queries for breakfast.
  • You don’t consider writing a cool new jQuery plugin “work”.
  • You can turn a PSD into an HTML template like nobody can tell the difference.
  • You live in Holland or plan to move to Holland (and have a work visa).
  • You are able to work independently with little supervision.
  • You’re a team player, you’ll work and learn alongside your marketing colleagues creating the best environment for yourself and them to operate in. Working together with them on the projects but also autonomous in finding the right solutions for new ideas.
  • You’re very ambitious and love to think about innovative and new solutions.
  • You’re interested in startups, technology and doing online business.
