As our in-house designer you’ll be shaping how millions of people see our company, content and products.

With over 10 million impressions a month, this job comes with an audience most designers can only dream of. Up for the challenge? We're offering you an opportunity to shape the online and offline presence of The Next Web — a leading international tech media company, operating out of our very own tech hub TQ in the heart of Amsterdam.

90% digital, 10% print

As our designer you’ll be channeling your creativity to shape TNW’s brand, making sure our products are a breeze to browse, and get some oohs and ahhs in the process. You know how to design beautiful and compelling pages, intuitive UIs, and have a knack for typography. You can create refreshing work while operating within the boundaries of our visual identity, and even if you’re not a front-end genius, you know what CSS and Javascript can do for you today.

But it’s not all digital. Did you know about our annual conference in Amsterdam that drew 25.000 people in 2017? That needs designing too. Dressing up a conference — from the badges to a massive entrance gate — involves a daunting amount of print work, during what’s probably the most stressful and exhilarating part of the year.

The job

You’ll design for new and existing TNW products, working closely with our design director, all from our fancy tech hub TQ on the canals of Amsterdam. The brands you’ll be working on include TNW News, TNW Conference, TNW New York, Index, TQ and Launchpad Meetups. In the design team, you’ll be inspiring and helping out junior designers, as well as challenging seniors on their design decisions. When it comes to timelines, you’re a pragmatic perfectionist: you know when good is good enough, and when to go all-out.
