Cryptocurrency and Blockchain News Writer

For TNW’s new cryptocurrency and blockchain media sub-brand, Hard Fork, we’re looking for a competent news writer with a flair for spotting important stories before they’ve blown up and the ability to put out quality content at a steady rate.

Are you a lightning-fast writer with a strong voice, a unique take on the latest developments in the crypto space, and plenty of ideas how we can polish our editorial strategy and take our reporting to the next level? Do you have great aptitude for scouting interesting stories and turning boring details into valuable insights? Do you think that most cryptocurrency and blockchain reporting sucks, but you know how to fix it?

Then you might be the person we are looking for!

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess great communication skills on a native-English level
  • Have a unique writing voice, strong editing skills, and a proven record in the newsroom
  • Are not afraid of trying out things that might fail
  • Know what’s in and what’s out in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space
  • Can churn out a high volume of articles of consistent quality
  • Hate generic PR-driven journalism

  • Producing thorough news and opinion pieces on cryptocurrency-related topics
  • Creative input for new formats, coverage angles, and ways of engaging our readers
  • Find leads and stories people care and want to know about
  • Work with the editorial and social media teams to brush up our content
  • Analyze content stats and feedback to find better ways to serve our audience
  • Weekly reporting in editorial meeting

  • A sweet spot in the heart of Amsterdam – or the possibility to work remotely
  • Flexible hours and open vacation policy
  • Good compensation
  • Did we mention there will be parties?

Preferred start date: ASAP

We’d like to see what you’ve done in the past. We’ll ask you to attach:

  • CV
  • Motivational letter
  • 3 original pitches for potential cryptocurrency/blockchain stories
  • Relevant past work

  • PS. This position is open for remote writers too. It’s worth noting we’ll give priority to applicants based in the Amsterdam area or willing to relocate on short notice.
