Community Manager Intern, TQ

TQ is a curated tech space at the heart of Amsterdam, founded by The Next Web. We help push startups towards exponential growth with the right facilities, community and programming. And that's where you come in.

About us

A startup isn’t a startup unless it’s growing and expanding is hard when you lack the focus or experience to build, measure, learn and repeat. TQ is a space founded by industry veterans who help along the way. Whether it’s the incredible location, the passionate talent, the insightful events, or the amazing community. If you’re looking to grow your startup, TQ is the place for you.

To make sure we make this vision happen, we’re looking for an intern community manager to join our team full-time starting as soon as possible. You will particularly love this position if you have affinity with people and technology.

Your role

  • You will be a host to our community, in the building as well as online. You’ll make sure guests and members know how to access the right parts of the building (spoiler alert: it’s pretty big!). This includes helping guests find their way at the reception area to enabling that meetings between visitors, experts and like-minded startups run as smoothly as possible.
  • We facilitate the interaction points between the members and residents of our community, and everyone on the outside of the building of course. Together with our community director you will help kickstart online and offline platforms so people can connect with each other, while gathering ideas from the community and our team on how to improve it.

  • Onboarding of new members will be a crucial part to running the community successfully. You will work with our operations director and community manager to onboard new members as smoothly as possible.

  • A great atmosphere and environment contribute to happy and productive people. You have the power to make our building of 6000 m² / 65.000 ft² and it’s entrance feel as “gezellig” as a living room. There’s a certain style and feeling that matches TQ, and we intend to materialize and improve it with your help.

  • You coordinate with our community and events & marketing manager to make sure resident members know what events that are relevant to them are coming up. Think about office hours, meetups, workshops, speaker events and drinks or pizza nights.

  • You're fluent in English. In fact, you might not even speak Dutch at all. Totally fine with us since our community is international, as long as live here or plan to move to the Netherlands and have a work Visa.

  • You like learning about new technologies, and enjoy discovering new apps or games. The geekier the better.

Our offer

  • A full-time 2-6 month internship. We’re open to discuss a part-time position too.
  • Fitting compensation that keeps you focused.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to work at the heart of the tech community in Amsterdam and basically… attend a lot of great parties and events. Which occasionally you might help organize. It’ll be the ride of your life!
  • You’ll meet tons and tons of early stage startups. So if you plan to start a company yourself one day, or would love to work for one later on, this is the job for you.
  • A role where you can pick your responsibilities and grow the skills you want to grow. A “community manager” describes a lot of things, and we’d love to play on your individual strengths to see what it can mean for you.
  • A team that supports you who’ve worked at all kinds of tech companies, from small ones to big ones like Google. We’ll teach you all of our joint experiences. Like, did you know our Managing Director can fold a frog out of a €10 bill? Amazing. But seriously, there’s over 20 years of experience in the house.
  • Did we mention there will be parties?

In short, you’ll do everything in your power to make startups in our community find their way around, connect with each other and feel at home! So come on, send over that resume and let's chat.
